I moved back to Seattle at the end of November and didn’t keep my newly acquired books segregated during the move. I started listing unread books in my LibraryThing catalog so hopefully I won’t have as much trouble from now on. Of course, I’m no longer living close to Michael’s Books and their evil evil free boxes of books. So probably no random acquiring of too many books, at least on a daily basis that would make these entries tough.
For the month of December, I have acquired only three books. The first was lent to me by a friend:
- London Fields / Martin Amis
The other two came from Amazon.com.
- The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money / John Maynard Keynes. I got this with the vague idea of trying to read along as Marginal Revolution blogged the chapters in sort of an online reading group. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up though, so this will be a long term project.
- The Pirate Sun / Karl Schroeder.
It’s the first month in well over a year where I acquired fewer books than I disposed of.
