Walking out to my car one day last fall, I saw that someone had put a large number of books on the free shelf in the back lobby of my building. Being the book person that I am, I walked over and poked through them. What stood out at me was Bad As I Wanna Be! How could I pass up this gem? Mine!

Dennis Rodman is a walking train wreck. And I don’t mean his penchant for wearing women’s clothes. Rodman is a freak on the court, a one-man rebounding machine. On the sidelines though, he was often sullen and difficult.

I didn’t really figure I’d learn much about Rodman from the book. He likes to use the words bro and shit a lot. He likes trash-talking people he doesn’t like. He also admits to lots of small lapses in judgment, but then follows each up by pointing at someone else and writing but what about him? he did something much worse! Not to mention, a lot of what he says just isn’t consistent. But hey, if I Dennis Rodman, I probably wouldn’t know inconsistent either.

He’s not the worst guy in the world. He’s just a basketball player who found out he could be notorious. And some of his points are even worthwhile, if a bit obvious.

It’s a nice, short, entertaining read. But entertaining mostly because I was a looky-loo.
