I'm new to this book blogging thing myself and I find the more interesting blogs like you said the ones that are reader-oriented and personal blogs. I see a few, though, that are going the way of the virtual blog tour or reading as many ARCs as they can when that isn't where they started. Maybe they think there's money there, although they probably won't see it is my guess. If I do a giveaway, it probably will come from my own collection or, possibly, from a local independent bookstore, definitely not from a publisher. At least, for me, that would be whoring myself out.
